First Why, then How, and now finally, What. You know why and how BPM does what we do. Now, What do we actually do? I will explain. But first, a story.
A Lesson in the Elevator
In the early 2010s, I breezed into a networking event—you know, the kind where you chat with other attendees while stirring half-and-half and Splenda into your coffee. At the time, I was working as an independent consultant, managing projects in the life sciences industry. I had been practicing my elevator pitch, but for some reason, it never quite felt natural.
When I met the first person at the event, I gave it a shot:
“I am a project manager in life sciences. I help clients get projects done on time and under budget.”
The response?
“Why do they need you? Don’t they have their own people to do that?”
Caught off guard, I stumbled.
“Um. Well. I’m better at it.”
Clearly, my elevator pitch needed some work.
Fast Forward to Today
These days, I’m doing much more than delivering an elevator pitch. I’m talking with clients and consultants about what it takes to create conditions in which people can be extraordinary. I focus on how we create a great environment for our consultants and clients to achieve important, lasting change. And now, it’s time to share what our work actually looks like.
What We Do at BPM Associates
At BPM Associates, we manage complex projects within the life sciences sector, bringing our expertise to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. But more importantly, we foster a collaborative and supportive environment that empowers our project teams. Let’s explore a few key case studies that highlight our impact.
1. Delivering Production Capacity for a Combination Product
A large pharmaceutical client recently gained approval for a combination product—a drug pre-loaded into a syringe. With rapid market demand, they needed a significant boost in production capacity. That’s when BPM Associates stepped in.
We managed the entire integration of new manufacturing equipment, coordinating every phase from specifications and ordering to installation and IT integration. Our team ensured seamless communication between the client, equipment manufacturers, installers, and testers. The result? Increased production capacity and a satisfied client, ready to meet market demands.
2. Quality System Improvement
When regulatory bodies like the FDA identify deficiencies in a pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturer’s processes, it can be a daunting challenge to address these issues. That’s where BPM Associates excels.
Our consultants are experts at organizing and leading teams to remediate deficiencies. We work closely with clients to identify the root causes and implement both strategic and tactical solutions. Our efforts consistently lead to regulatory approval of corrected systems, ensuring our clients remain compliant and continue to produce safe, effective products.
3. Facility Expansion
Facility expansions are a critical part of growth in the life sciences industry, whether through new builds or renovations. BPM Associates brings seasoned expertise to managing these large-scale projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and efficient execution.
Our project managers oversee every detail, coordinating teams of hundreds across multiple disciplines. By understanding the purpose and requirements of each facility, we inspire our teams to deliver their best work. This approach leads to successful, high-quality project completions that support the growth and innovation of our clients.
Bringing It All Together
At BPM Associates, our focus is on more than just delivering projects. It’s about creating an environment where our clients and consultants can thrive, accomplish important goals, and drive lasting change in the life sciences industry. This is what we do—partnering with clients to solve complex problems and enable extraordinary outcomes.
